Meetings
We meet the second Monday of each month at 7:00 P.M. at St. Lutheran Church ,2198 N. Meridian Rd.
There is no cost to attend and there is no religious affliliation.
If I go to a meeting, will I have
to talk?
No one is required to talk at any meeting. We understand that this can be
difficult.
My child was an adult and didn't
live at home. Can I still go to a meeting?
Meetings are open to all families who have experienced
the death of a son or daughter, at any age, from any cause. Regardless of
age, we believe our children will always be thought of as just that - our
children.
What happens at a meeting?
Most often we start with an informal time to welcome people and serve coffee
or water. The formal part of the meeting then begins with the group sharing
their thoughts and feelings. At this time you may share as much or as little
as you need.
My partner won't come. Can I come
alone?
Yes. We all grieve differently and your partner may not be ready to take
part now or ever.
Do I need to call someone to let
them know I am coming?
No. Just come whenever you feel up to it.
My child died several years ago.
Is it too late for me to attend now?
Many parents don't feel the need for a support
group until years after the death of a child. It's alright to come whenever
you are ready.
